oooh, the animorph fandom exists!

ok, question: what would your morphs be?

my battle morph would probably be a wolverine because they’re small (good for escape) but vicious and powerful

and a falcon for transportation

My battle morph’d be a snow leopard, because fuck yes. Also because they’re fast and flexible and can jump ridiculous heights. Although I might want something less fluffy if I had to fight during the summer months… A hippo, then. They fuck shit up.

As for a flying morph…a vulture. Definitely a vulture. Big, able to defend itself, and ubiquitous enough that no one’d question why it was there. Though, I’ve always thought that being a crow would be fun, too.

can we just take a moment to imagine little cute six-year-old hermione reading matilda

and peering into this book about a smart, bookish girl who could move things with her mind

and then can you imagine her concentrating very hard on the books on the bookshelf and slowly, slowly, getting them to move

OK as much as I like Kingdom Hearts can we talk about how of the three female characters (arguably only two characters - one of whom is a guy- in different forms), 2 of them dont exist anyone and the one who does keeps falling into comas and being kidnapped and generally being a damsel in distress and about how Sora actually made a joke about how she’d get in the way if she came with him and about how she only appears for about 15 minutes and it’s all cutscenes and her being in danger?

can we talk about how of the three female characters (arguably only two characters - one of whom is a guy- in different forms),”

uh, do you even know what you’re talking about?

Yes, actually, I do. The three girls that I meant are Kairi, Namine, and Xion. It can be argued that Namine is Kairi in another form, and that Xion is Sora/Roxas in another body- a body that looks like Kairi. As such, can’t all three of the girls be seen as permutations of Kairi and Sora?

There are six female original characters in KH.

Kairi, Naminé, Xion, Olette, Larxene and Aqua.

While Kairi, Nami and Xion all share connections to each other, they have three distinct personalities and identities and are considered separate characters. Aqua is a Keyblade Master with no direct connection to any of them, and is a playable protagonist and the true hero of her game. Xion is not “a guy”. Xion is a girl.

All this being said, there are definitely legitimate concerns and problems with the way Kingdom Hearts treats its female characters and the general shitty representation (as explored in this post)

First, thanks for linking me to that. I hadn’t seen anything like that around, which is why I made my first post. But my post wasn’t really about how many girls there are, but about what happens to them.

Secondly, you caught me. I haven’t played Aqua’s game. I know basically nothing about it. Sorry.

Anyways, I didn’t mean to imply that a) they weren’t all separate characters and b) that xion wasn’t a girl. “a guy” was me referring to sora. Just pointing out that if someone wanted to they could say that xion’s strengths came from being part-sora.

idk man all I wanted was to have some discussion about the whole erased-from-the-universe-damsel thing
